Art-o-rama is pleased to announce its list of gallery and publisher participants for its 15th edition of the professional art fair, which will take place from August 27 to 29, 2021 at the Cultural Centre of La Friche la Belle de Mai in Marseille. The galleries’ section will continue to be on view as an exhibition through September 12, 2021.
Véronique Collard-Bovy, director of Fræme, said during our interview in Marseille on 30 March that she and Jérôme Pantalacci director, had decided to give the fair a new formula while maintaining its DNA in order to respond to the constraints imposed by the period with a signal sent to the entire ecosystem through the creation of 4 new prizes.
Thanks to the rigorous selection process, which has become a hallmark of our identity, this year’s fair will be as intimate as forgone editions with 44 participating galleries and publishers from 11 countries. Preempting possible travel restrictions related to COVID-19, a new section has been added to the 3 existing fair sections titled Dialogues, and will be dedicated to pairings of galleries working together on a joint project. Created in response to the 2020 global health crisis, the Immaterial Salon has evolved into a full section of the fair, specifically dedicated to non-material works of art. The list of works and galleries part of the Immaterial Salon will be announced and accessible to view online by the end of July, one month before the in-person opening of Art-o-rama. For this year’s showroom, Brazilian guest curator Tiago de Abreu Pinto will create links between real and virtual spaces through the exploration of text- and sound-based works to be presented within the art fair. Despite travel restrictions and pandemic-related access restrictions, it is an immense pleasure for us to be able to invite you to Art-o-rama in Marseille for the last weekend this August. The fair will comply and adhere to all national and local health measurements and would like to take this opportunity to express its thanks to all the galleries, publishers, artists and supporters for their commitment and for all their work on the specific projects.
